Vomiting Disorders

Vomiting is a common digestive problem in dogs and cats and can occur due to a wide range of health conditions affecting the stomach and digestive system. Occasional vomiting may not always be serious, but frequent or persistent vomiting can indicate an underlying medical issue that requires immediate veterinary attention.

Pets may develop vomiting due to food intolerance, sudden dietary changes, spoiled food, infections, intestinal parasites, toxins, gastritis, digestive blockages, liver disease, kidney disease, or swallowing foreign objects.

In some cases, stress and motion sickness can also trigger vomiting episodes.

Common symptoms associated with vomiting disorders include nausea, drooling, weakness, dehydration, abdominal discomfort, loss of appetite, diarrhea, lethargy, and weight loss. Severe or continuous vomiting can quickly lead to dehydration and serious health complications, especially in puppies, kittens, and senior pets.

At Shiva Pet Clinic, our veterinarians perform detailed examinations and diagnostic evaluations to identify the underlying cause of vomiting and provide the most suitable treatment plan. Depending on the condition, treatment may include medications, fluid therapy, dietary management, probiotics, and supportive care.

Early diagnosis and proper treatment are important to protect your pet’s digestive health and ensure a faster and safer recovery.
